The mouthwatering sweet - 'Rasgulla'

Kolkata, earlier know as Calcutta, is known for Bengali traditional food and especially the mouthwatering sweets which are popular all over India. In Bengal, tourists can taste its cottage cheese based sweets like sandesh, rosogolla and chanar payesh. Other known delicacies consist of Misti doi and Patali gur confectionery. In Kolkata, you can taste cuisine of each district of Bengal and also some of its own unique dishes like Langcha and mihidana-sitabhog of Bardhaman, sharbhaja of Krishnanagar, chanabora of Murshidabad etc.

However, when in Kolkata, tourists can taste some of the most renowned foods like:

• Kochuri and alurdom
